Or is it a result of the clove oil?

That's a good question... but I wouldn't think that they would have used that much clove oil in a small container...

@RoO - you may be having a thought that doesn't seem to be supported by their apparent lack of care in the fish. :D

So does ich ever look like that or would the fish be dead much sooner?

No... it's not ich... most likely Columnaris... given the ragged fins...or possibly Saprolegniosis....

Which would be consistent with Silver Perch in winter... and the reported state of the holding tank(s)...

Looking around the site for Columnaris it seems the treatment is to salt to 3ppt and make efforts to improve water quality and reduce stress on the fish - does that sound about right?

Glad to say there were no more casualties overnight. All the others are happily swimming right way up, but hiding around the pump. Will try give them something to eat tonight. They weren't interested last night.
Hopefully its smooth sailing from here. I am still contemplating calling up and asking for a $50 refund for the lost fish.

I'd ask for the refund PLUS a fix for the illness their fish have - see what they think it is. Mention the strict WA laws about fish and things like Govt Depts, contamination, enforced sterilisation of their tanks etc.

*grins* Just for the halibut, not because I think you might get any result except a panicked removal of adverts et

Some times Ferguson Springs does have larger fish in small quantities not advertised. I would call Gavin at the number listed on their site. I got some 75mm SP from there 2 weeks ago and all are going good.
They are good to deal with and will give you good advice.

I think I might have this. They are flashing though?
Have had 5 fingerlings die - one I rescued and put into a salt bath but hes upside down every where - probably die soon.
I have salted to 6ppt.
