I experienced a first fish death. In the morning when I went to feed the fish one of them was floating on the surface.

It was one of the smallest ones from the tank. I grow carps.

I assume she died of stress. As i was adding a swirl filter to my system and there was a lot of movement in the FT as well. Also a lot of particles were floating around until it settled down in the filter.

The fish had a strong smell. And was slimy.

I have around 700 L of water in my system and have added 1kg of salt a few moths ago.

I tested the water, and the results are:

Ammonia: 0,2
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 2
PH: 7,2
Temperature: 24 cellsious

Other fishes are doing fine swimming around and eating as usual. Most of them are double size than the unlucky one.

Should I be worried or take some actions?

It sucks, but it happens every now and again.

If another dies, or they stop eating/acting strange, then let us know. But the salt is the right treatment in case there is something else wrong.
