Hi All.

I have an Aquaponics Fish tank 800 Litres and last month all my Koi fish started dying one by one. I had 9 and 8 of them died. I have a home aquarium just 120 litres and whenever I shifted my Koi to my home aquarium magically my koi used to survive.

After looking into water quality, temperature, pH, DO I found that my air pump was not working properly so may be that's why fish were dying. I shifted my last milky koi to my home aquarium and she was surviving really well. She was doing fine for last 2 months in my aquarium but yesterday I threw a little extra food and Ammonia went up to 0.50 PPM and the milky koi died. I have some other juvenile koi fish too in my aquarium but none of them died. Some other large fish are doing fine too.

So my question is why only milky koi died who was earlier in my Aquaponics tank. Did she have a weak immune system due to low DO in my Aquaponics fish tank and she could not take any ammonia at all?

Hi abhinav, its hard to say without ph and the like it could have been ph and the damage to the last one may have finally got the better of the fish but a shift of more than .2 in ph will stress the fish causing deaths low DO could also be a factor but you havent given much details.
