Well the API test kit arrived and I tested the water sample I kept plus did a new test on the pond today.
Old Sample:ph 7,high range ph 7.8,ammonia 0-.25ppm,nitrite 0ppm,nitrate 80-160ppm.
Current pond:ph 7.6,high range ph 7.8,ammonia 0ppm,nitrite 0ppm,nitrate 80-160.
Does anybody think that those sort of readings might have killed the fish?I am just about to get some more sp and possibly a couple of marron so I'd appreciate any advice re water quality.

The basic parameters look fine. Good solid nitrate colony.

Although I think the concerns with your system wasnt what you have tested for, prob some kind if parasitic infection or something.

Im not sure what steps you need to take before adding more stock.

The numbers look OK.

I'd still be quarantining any new arrivals for two to three weeks in a salted environment before adding them to the remaining stock in your system.

Thanks folks.Yes it does look like I imported some sort of parasite with the two trout from Woodvale.
I have no fish right now so will get some from Carey in Gidgegannup;his fish are always healthy.
Cheers.
