Hey there, im new to this forum but have been playing around with aquaponics for years. Just thought id let you know of the Grobest feed i am using and have used for the past 4 years. This feed does not contain that horrible presevative. Food made from fishmeal, shrimpmeal, flour, ash, water. They have a variety of feed types for certain foods. Have been using barra pellets but moved to TF (product code) a lower protein derived from soy and fish meal also cheaper!. Has no animal byproducts so all in all a healtyer fish, which means all a healthy me. i found them at www.grobest.com.au Bream man |

I don't mean to be rude, but your first three posts all mention this food. Commercial interest or do you just really like their fish food? |

Hi Bream man , welcome, The food is not made from ash. Ash content is a chemical term which I will attempt to expalin below. If you were to analyse the food in a food lab, one of the standard tests is to burn everything off in an oven (muffle furnace) at high temperature. The residue is the ash and is expressed as a percentage of the wieght of the original dry sample. Unrelated .. However, when I was making up "organic" hydroponic solutions, I used wood ash as a way of adding minerals and trace elements to the hydroponic solution. |

About the same price as Ridleys ($50/25kg), certainly worth looking at if it doesn't have the preservatives |

Agreed B2,but nothing wrong with plugging a good thing(if its good). Bream man, if indeed you have commercial interest how about a discount for forum members(say 10-15%)I,m sure you will move your product then |

I second what you say Gnash. BM if you are mixed up with this product you don't need to hide it here. We have been on the look-out for a suitable feed without ethoxyquin. The fact that it is in Brisi is all the better :-) |

Sure thing Bream Man, seems Ridleys require "large" orders ie/pallet which is beyond most members, so if these guys can do a competitive price in "buyable" quantities they'd be on a winner. I'd buy!! Show me the discount.... |

got a reply: Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. I have attached the specification sheets on our barramundi, silver/jade and native eco feeds. The Silver/Jade feed comes in 15kg bags and cost $40.00 for the nursery size pellet (1.4/1.8mm)and $35.00 for the grow out pellets (+GST). Other prices are attached. Freight is normally via star track express and is quoted individually. Pick ups from Beenleigh, south of Brisbane is also an option. I hope this is helpful. Thank you, Andrew Bray GROBEST AUSTRALIA FREECALL 1800 005 434 (the next few posts will be the info from the fact/data/price sheets they were kind enough to send to me - I am impressed at their service thus far) |
