I was wondering if a vegetarian type fish could be fed a diet containing silage?

Maybe in miniscule amounts.. otherwise it would just sit on the bottom of the tank... decompose.. and cause an ammonia spike...

Not sure that it would have any great nutritional value for the fish anyway...

Hay would have much less nutritional value than silage anyway wouldnt it?

I would be worried about mould spores that cattle might be able to handle, but introducing it to your water and fish might be a bad idea - you could end up with toxicity issues perhaps?

Just strikes me as a bad idea. Duckweed is easy to grow

Yep, just feed the stuff to the compost heap... you can always feed the worms or BSF to the fish....

I reckon it's just cheaper, easier and less time consuming to feed the fish a well balanced diet... pellets...

Thanks for the replies :)
So, sounds like it would be better to give it to the worms and than give the worms to the fish instead
