I searched through all the fish food threads and couldn't find anything about sprouts. Don't know where i saw it. Any way sprouts are very high in protein and vitamins, and extremely easy and cheap to grow yourself. Has anyone used these in thier food or used them as a supplement for thier veggie loving fish like tilapia?

I really would not know, but sprouts are a fantastic source of nutrition for people so they could only be good for Tilapia, give it a go. My wife grows loads of sprouts all the time and says sprouts are much richer in protein once sprouted than while just in seed form. Mung bean and alfalfa grow like mad.

i grow mung and lentle here. they are close to 30% protein. Going to try to dry them and grind them up to mix with other food...i just hope the nutritional content remains that way... need to do more research. Otherwise i know the tilapia will devour them if i just throw them in

If I grew sprouts, I'm not sure the fish would ever get any...I can eat them faster then I can pick them...

since sprouts have lots of water in them i would like to dry them in our hot african sun. anyone know if the nutrient content will deminish or maybe even concentrate?
