Post subject:  Solar Dehydrating Fish Food

Has anybody made their own fish food and dehydrated it? I am wanting to make my own fish food. I was originally just going to freezes it, but it would be much cheaper to dehydrate it if I could.
This site has been amazing! I have read a LOT and put together ingredients that are basicly free for me that I plan on grinding into a mush then either freezing or dehydrating.
Would it work to spread the food in the hydrator about 10mm thick and let it dehydrate. When it is dried, just break it up and store it in a plastic container flooded with CO2. (Grain stored in CO2 will last 5 years) I have several cyliniders of CO2 for carbonate my Homebrew :D

My current Recipe Formulation:
----------------------------------------
1) Spent Barley Grain from the brewery.
2) Yeast trub from the brewery
3) Duck weed grows thick everywhere here in the summer
4) Black Soldier Flies from bio pod
5) Worms from my grow bed
6) Eggs to cause it to stick together

Here are a few links to Solar dehydrators. I think the key will be to make one that causes hot are to move constantly past the dehydrating fish food, or I could just cook it in the oven or bbq pit, or my Propane smoker (without smoke)

I know many of us have talked about home made fish food but few of us are using home made food exclusively to feed our fish.

Only issues I see is that you can't be certain with that mix that your fish are getting all the vitamins and nutrients they need and there may be deficiency diseases they will become prone to and that might be difficult for the average person to recognize and treat properly.

Still, it will be interesting to see how your mix comes out and what the fish think of it.

Add some fish pellets into the mix to cover any shortfalls in the feed.
