Hello, I am a beginner in Aquaponics. I have a ten gallon indoor tank with six smaller fish (3 guppies, 1 molly, 1 danio, and 1 tetra. The fish food I bought says to feed a few flakes per fish twice a day. But I did some research and some people say they feed every other day, twice a day, once a day, three-five times per day with very small feedings. I just don’t know which one is the right way. How much and how often should I feed my fish? |

Two to three times a day as much as they can eat in 10 minutes. Water temp plays a big part in how much i feed. Winter time when water temps are in the 50sF i will feed once a day. In the summer and they are active then i will feed them as much as they can as often as they will eat. Sent from my SM-N970U using Tapatalk |

4 of my systems '(3) in pots, 1 pond dug in the ground' only get fed once a day. The one in the ground don't eat much maybe because of the abundance of alge. All 4 are constantly tramatized and sometimes eaten by a raccoon I think. These are located 10 or so mile away. So they're somewhat neglected. But the one at the house get fed 3 times, and are always hungry. It's so hard for me to maintain when I have to be constantly replacing fish. As my experience grows, I would think feed them as much as you can without waste. (0) extra. Personally, I sure would like to see some extra nitrates. |
