The eagerly anticipated pellets have arrived from Queensland at last. I also have a crumble for those with tiny late season silver fingerlings. Those who have ordered will have their stock dispatched asap via Fastway. Time to put ur hands in ur pockets folks. 25 kilo bags only atm, pm me for details/food specs. I am very keen to support the producer here so let's all chip in and buy a bag. My little guys will be getting their first crack at it shortly. With the warm weather, they have been nuts on the food lately, so can't wait to try them on the 'good stuff.' Well, we found a definite product preference over Easter by sheer mistake. The breeders had been getting a particular pellet brand but were fed the new organic ones by mistake by dad over Easter. (I left the wrong instructions!) Anywho, I switched them back to their normal stuff after Easter to finish the bag and they won't eat it. Waited a day, gave them the organic ones and they were all over them. Whilst I am happy they like these new pellets, I am sitting on half a bag of very expensive chook feed it seems. Feel like I lost 10 bucks and found 5 bucks. |

TT, what are the rough costs /kg? I want to know if to hold out for supplies to reach over here, or just buy some from LFS. |

Outback, don't hold your breath. Although I wanted to coordinate the purchase of a pallet, response (6 bags) doesn't justify going ahead, I'm afraid. |

Wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't nearly a whole bag of high protein barra stuff, cost a bomb. I expect my chooks to start laying emu eggs very shortly. |

Why are you feeding your silvers barra stuff? I would bet that if you didn't feed them for a couple of days they'd be back on it. That's what I would do. |

Must have a look at the bag in the morning, I could be wrong. Just remember being advised to buy it by the fella at Kangaroo Ground when I picked up the breeders. Will def check in the morning. |

No, to the above question. Lyndsay actually gave me his trailor and fish transporter to do the trip with and let me use his oxy bottle at no charge. I returned it the following day. On the pellets for the breeders, they are 43% protein barra pellets from Grobest. His rationale was that the higher protein put more condition on the breeders leading to better quality eggs/milt. At the time I knew no different. |
