I'm not clear about what you are asking and I don't think we have enough details to be
able to give any sort of proper answer about using this with "store bought seaweed".
My hunch would be, sure, why not? Try it and you might like it!

Perhaps if you can tell which species of "sea weed" you'll be using, that can be compared to the

Maybe the DIY method doesn't extract everything or as much, and perhaps some processes they use actually
enhance the product beyond simple render, but maybe the DIY method would be plenty good enough? If I could
find Seasol in Costa Rica I'd buy it for my AP vitamin cabinet. Instead I'll probably spend my next trip to the beach
gathering seaweed rather than swimming or trying to surf so I can mix up a batch of DIY Seasol.
