Hi everyone, I have just been tanking to Dr Michael Evens. He develops organic chicken food. He goes to my church. He said he can make up organic silver/Jade perch food for us. It will contain no land animal protien, and will have a protien content of approx 35 %. He has suggested he will make 1 ton of medium short pellets. His organic company will finance it and keep it on the floor for us to buy as needed. What I am looking for is people who may be interested in buying this product. He has to develop the formula and price it's production so this is in the development stage. For now i would like just a register of interest to see if it is worth while going through to production.

Nice idea AP, I'll be in.

A suggestion... given our needs for not only protein ( for fish) but certain trace elements, like Pottasium, in particular.... could he do an analysis and/or include some trace elements into the feed if we were to suggest them??

Kind of funny in a way.... all the references I've seen to "organic" chicken feed are a combination of corn grain and "fishmeal" :D

No piggy never tells porkies. I have the report sitting on my desk. It is FRDC project No.1996/391 150 pages. Published by NSW fisheries. Final report series No. 58. Dr Geoff Allan and his team were the first to develop a diet for silver perch without any fishmeal.

If it was "cheaply" available up here we would be interested. It would have to come in at $3/kg or close to, including freight.

I'm in, especially if the price is comparable to non-organic.
I'm not terribly fussed with organic, but would support you guys if I could. Buying power is everything.

In the US at least, fish is not organic. It's either wild-caught or farm-raised.
