Post subject:  Automatic Fish Feeder/Fish Feed for Goldfish

About to dive in and purchase my goldfish. Any recommendations for fish food brands?

Also, how much food will 150 gold fish go through? How often/how much should they be fed? Should I be purchasing in bulk?

And finally, do you use an automatic fish feeder? And if so - any recommendations for one that can supply 150 fish?

Any advice and conversation welcome!

150 goldies? woser, I hope your tank is massive.
I use an aquarium fish feeder but I only have 11 gold fish, maybe a koi pond feeder? maybe you need more than one....

Try for about 5L of media per goldfish, mine can handle 500ish golddfish. Just make sure it's to your filtration capabilities.

With the food, I have no idea what's local, but try for a 30% protein feed, and make sure it's sinking, the floating type will cause digestive issues with the goldies. I'd just do some googling for aquaponic/aquaculture feed.

If you're set on an automatic feeder, the eheim feeders are fairly reliable. I use the eheim twin feeder. If you're going to use a feeder, set it up to deliver only half the feed - and feed the other half yourself. If you just use the feeder it's easier to miss problems with the fish.
