Post subject:  Canadian Aquaponic Feed

Hello, just signed up with the forum.

I am nearly finished a my aquaponic set up in my garage. Not to big, a 75 gallon tank with 90 gallons of constant flood grow beds. I am planning on using about 5 goldfish for the system.

My problem is that I can't find any fish feed meant for aquaponics here in Canada. I've found places willing to ship feed to me but the cost of shipping makes it way to expensive. Im wondering how important a proper aquaponic's feed is if im not planning on eating the fish. Can I get away with using pet store food?

I have red wiggler worms in the compost bin, I was planning on supplementing with those as well. Im just worried that I will end up with a lot of deficiencies in my plants. Could I use the cheap feed and supplement with seaweed concentrate?

Thanks! Can't wait to get this system rolling.
