I'm finally admitting to myself that my trout may not reach the size I had hoped before I need to pull them out. They are on their medium pellets but not eating much and I doubt if they will finish those plus their larger ones. The larger ones have the magic ingredient (b carotine?) that turns their flesh pink. Should I take to the larger pellets with my blender and chop them to size?

Just try not to blend them to fine, go for more like a crumble. I break up mine to feed my baby catfish.

Just throw some 7mm pellets in, I've been doing it for the past 3 weeks or so. Initially I mixed 50/50 5 and 7mm, so those with small mouths had something to eat, but now they are all on 7mm, and yours are probably about the same size as mine, so should be able to eat the 7mm. I have plenty of 3mm and most of my 5mm pellets left over, hopefully the Murray Cod will eat them!

As long as they are big enough, Ive killed a trout by feeding it 7mm too early.

What size was it Charlie? All mine are over 20cm, and all still alive after 3 weeks of 7mm, but today's forecast 35C temperature is going to be a bit of a challenge, its already over 29C. Time for more ice!

Noted for when this fire passes. Thanks. Hope the water doesn't boil, I was hoping for smoked, not boiled.
