Post subject:  Automatic Fish Feeder recommendations

I need to get an automatic feeder and recommendations are appreciated. I want to be able to control portions and feeding frequency. It will be outdoors so it should be weatherproof and raccoon proof. It is for a 300 gal tank.

Thanks, Stephen

For those fairly new to aquaponics, you are probably better off NOT having an automated feeder, Feed them manually, then you know exactly how much they are eating. :thumbright:

I got one of these it was only $22.90 holds about 2 spoons of 3mm pellets.

I feed my fish in the morning before leaving for work and when I get home.
but this unit gives them a little snack 4 times a day.

I've tried a few. I don't think the one above would survive very long outside. The one's I'm using now are

They work OK - I only use them when we're on Winter break here at school. I agree it's hard to beat hand feeding so you know who's eating.
