ok so when i first started setting up my system this is the first set up i did to save space i was defeated in more ways than one first the top GB filled fine and siphoned good to problem... filled and drained second GB to fast same as third GB. Other issue is not alot of verticle space for growth. Question can this work with herbs if i reduce my BS size from 1" - 3/4" - 1/2" will this handle my flood and drain issue.

Most siphon issues are flow related.... you need to incorporate a method of flow control/adjustment... like a ball valve...

With cascading grow beds... you might even need to modify the sizing of your siphons in each bed...

Perhaps only put a siphon in every other bed. Then put a stand pipe with a small hole in the alternate beds. The logic is that the first bed will fill, then drain quickly. The second bed will fill quickly, then drain slowly. The next bed will fill slowly then drain quickly. And so on.

Is this setup inside, or outside? If it is inside, fluorescents between the grow beds would be a viable option for lettuces and herbs. Outside it might be difficult to get sun everywhere. The trick would then be to grow shade tolerant vegetables in the lower grow beds. They will be slow to grow however.
