Hi all, With a finite amount of vegetable matter, what do people see as the better use to make extra protein fish food- growing worms or growing BSFL? I can't see I will have enough for both, nor see the point in maintaining 2 systems for superficially the same end product. And is it worth doing Bokashi for the bits worms don't like - citrus and meat? Bokashi is brand new to me only just discovered it. Not a lot of meat used in the family but some citrus. Leaning towards worms as I have access to tons of shredded paper from work. System under construction is 2 identical but independant 1500L F/T with 8m2 of GB. Expecting a decent amount of waste vege matter once it gets going. Any opinions welcome :-) Thanks Jeff |

Well it will depend on your situation. We are struggling to get the soldier flies to really take off here, but the worms are going great guns. We did find that the soldier fly larvae moved in on our worm farm a few years back, didn't see it as a problem, but you will need to keep more food up to the solider fly larvae as they are voracious feeders. |
