To get a good quality feed for a carnivorous fish, you need to fish out populations of smaller schooling fish like anchovies or makrel. This just has no long term sustainable solution in my opinion. You need large boats that run on diesel to go out and get the fish. Considering china's oil needs alone by 2050 will be double that of current global production I can't see that going on forever.

I think herbivorous fish are the future for aquaculture.

Feeding them is based on corn or soybean, which offers some relief but it messes with the omega 3 to 6 ratios and I don't think it produces the healthiest fish.

Im liking the direction this company is taking but i can't seem to see anything else or other other information regarding the feed.

anyone seen anything or can comment on the feed situation?

Intersting read but as you say - cant seem to find anything about supplies from the company. Seems to be in demonstration mode. I would imagine the focus is on biofuel rather than protein feeds for human, aqauculture ot otherwise -which is a good thing dont get me wrong. I mean, there is no larger buisness than providing oil for the world. Oh the government is going to be all over this one. Hmm, thats right - "strong australian government backing"
