No complaints from the fish - shark loves them, silver dollar, congo tetras and angel fish too. The gouramis aren't too sure yet, and ill have to crush the pellets for the barbs but it looks like a winner

Just wondering if the floating pellets are appropriate food for tropical fish - It would seem to be a waste of money shelling out for small containers oftropical fish flakes when i have 3kg of pellets in the shed |

Werdna would probably know, I think he's been feeding the pellets to other fish. I just asked Nat here at the shop, he breeds and keeps quite a few tropicals and he's converted most of his onto the pellets without any problems.. |

Nat says that it has really coloured up his shrimps as well, he used to use expensive srimp feed for that extra colour, but pellets work just as well he says.. |

I feed them to all my larger fish and fry. I did find that sometimes you get bloat, which kills them pretty quick. It may be a good idea to mix up the foods a bit occaisonally, especially if their stomachs start getting a bit fat all the time or you get an unexplained death. Never tried with my shrimp... might give it a go!

What alternate foods do peoples try for Silver Perch? All but one of mine eating floaters, other one (runt) gets a few scraps that fall to the bottom. Funny - seems happy not growing, less than half the size of the next smallest, less than a quarter of the size of the biggest. I think that one will take more than two seasons to get to plate size. |

My SP get some spinach and endives sometimes, but I suppose i look at them a bit differently to my aquarium fish. As the SP are intended for consumption, I dont mind sticking (mostly) to a formulated diet that will promote optimum growth. The tropicals in my aquarium are just there to look pretty, and I guess I feel morally obliged to give them a wider and more varied diet, as well as provide a nicer environment with more cover, gravel floor etc. |

yep i feed it to my fish (small fish way into the hundreds tetras daninos guppies minos pigmy perch cichlids and large fish devils oscars. i dont even crush it up any more for any other than the fry (i found it to work well for growing fry). i also give them a varied diet of veggies and crustaceans but its about the only pellet i use now |

Yeah second day in and even the Barbs are smashing the 3mm pellets |
