Happy to share design if it works. Will be simple easily bought products, probably use Bunnings stuff so common for most Aussies.

I have my attracter containers out ,, just cut little openings on lip of ice-cream container , hole pushed through each corner , string tied on. Put in babanana/etc ,, put on lid , use string to hang in tree.

Apparently banana's are just about their favourite food , so I guessed would be an excellent attractant. The actual banana , they will eat the skin but only after no banana is left.

I made a BSF harvester last year. It was similar to other home make jobs I have seen and worked OK. I will take some photos and post them.

I like it ,, but just one observation ,, the BSFL are going to spend a lot of time trying to find those two small escape routes.
Access is maybe 2 x 2cm in a quite large box.
More and larger ramps need in my opinion.
Also if ramps are flat and are made of corrigated plastic ?? Then ramp is escape route for mature BSFL and ALSO a place for BSF to lay eggs.

I agree with Chappo and want to add that your larvae may escape through your bottom air holes.

I also agree with Chappo on having 2 or more which would help prevent overfeeding and will produce more larva! May have to regularly take a few larva and put in a planter to mature to help ensure future BSF egg production.

The 2' one is $180 us and the 4' one is $300 us plus $40 shipping in the Lower 48 add $12 for Canada. It's still pricey but if you have the $$ it may be worth not having the problems the DYI can cause. Still tough pill for me being thrifty

They are manufactured in Vietnam ,, In case you don't know Vietnam is very close to Australia:) The extra dollars are just the normal " rip -off the-Aussie" tax.
Don't pay it.
I find the same discusting rip=off-Aussie on many goods ,,
Look at a good quality egg incubator , say a Hobovator.... in the UK or USA ,, maybe AUD$100 ..... here $240 PLUS,, thieves.
