Ever since I moved to the "south" I find these bees being quite a nuisance. Being I'm considering stocking fish that are keen to eating more than vegetation I've been thinking of cost cuts when it comes to feed. I read that some place lights over their FT at night that attracts bugs to the water for such fish. People already have simple means in capturing these bees so as to protect there vulnerable structures. The downside is that these bees are quite large and I'm considering bluegill. Yet would they, if interested, just rip the bug apart? I'm sure these fish (wild caught) are familiar with this bug being they get caught in water from time to time. Just throwing the idea out there. You could very readily collect a lot of these bees daily with enough traps. Of course this wouldn't bee the entire diet but a cost cutting supplement. Any thoughts?
