I have a beehive on the top of my wish list for Xmas. You guys have just pushed me further into my need for bees! I'm hoping to use the warre method which apparently more natural to the bee, a little less productive but makes for a happier bee colony? I'm really looking forward to using honey in my cooking cause I think its better than sugar but the cost is prohibitive. And what will I do with all that beeswax byproduct? Apart from the million uses that come to mind. Oh and gives me another excuse to buy more trees that flower all through the year (for the bees of course) .

Ok so just to confirm dead bees are ok to tilapias? My neighbor has a hive on roof and I find about 50-100 dead/half dead bees at my front door every morning. The are attracted to my front door light.

They wouldn't harm the fish, but their nutritional value is pretty low. They also have a high degree of undigestible content (chitin)... to my mind it wouldn't be worth the effort to collect them.

However if your neighbor culls drone brood (ask him or her, they'll know what I'm talking about, it's a natural way to protect the colony from collapsing from varroa), the pupae are incredibly nutritious. I huck drone comb to chickens and they only get that excited when a mouse makes a wrong turn into the henyard :D .

Ohh they have no idea. They want the colony gone but they dont want to pay someone to do it so he puts a tarp over it every six months and spray all sorts of crap in it to kill them off.

That is very funny, Raskal311. It probably shouldn't be, but it is.
