so far the pumpkinseed wont touch pellets even when they sink, they dont come to the top for anything they stay on the bottom and will only eat red worms so far wont even touch a live meal worm. if its not on bottom and not wiggling, forget it :dontknow: im about to give them a bath in crisco and go get trout!

I can't find where you specified, but did you get fingerlings or larger fish? I got my hybrids as 1-2" fingerlings and they made the transition from flakes to pellets fairly easily.

Yah, i knew it would be a challenge, there were a lot of contrary posts after mine making it sound easy.

have you tried keith's wet pellet and worm mix strategy? You have to get them to associate the taste of pellet with food, cause right now they will spit it out. You can soak a pellet and get it to sink, you can also play with the shape to make it something they "mistake" for food they want. .

Since you have them eating worms that seems like the best plan.
