Hello!

I have around 10 smaller Tilapias that i want to grow big in my system but i have no idea what to feed them. At the moment i give them some Ciclid food of a brand called "Hikari Cichlid Cichlid Gold" (http://www.hikari.info/tropical/t_16.html) and they eat it like crazy.

But i want to go a more nature friendly way and choose food for my fish that are of high quality but still friendly for the environment but here in Sweden the choices are quite limited.

But have seen that Hikari also stocks a big assortment of different fish food most are for ornamental, pond and koi fish etc. And it is not to cheap but the quality seems to be quite high from what i have heard around in koi and goldfish people. But how friendly for the environment is it?

What should i get for food for my fish that make em grow big and nice but still is healthy for them and the environment? Any good brands i could try to get my hands on?

Regards,
ViPER^.

Perhaps look to your national Aquaculture Association... for information about feed suppliers...

Tilapia can be supplemented with worms, caterpillars, duckweed.. and other vegeatation... they quite herbivorous by nature...

But for optimum growth.. an aquaculture feed is preferred... even if with some of the "environmental" concerns about the content...

Not sure if there are any "organic" fish feeds available in your country.. or those close by... :dontknow"
