Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie to Aquaponics. I put together a constant flood IBC system and have 34 Tilipia fingerlings. I was wondering how much should I be feeding them. I am using High protien Catfish food from Tractor Supply. Any help would be appreciated.

The tractor supply catfish food is 31% protein and you really need to find something about 47-51%. The early development and growth is critical for tilapia to get enough protein when fingerlings. I feed mine 3 times a day as much as they will eat for 3-5 minutes. Wow do they grow fast. You can even find tropical fish flakes that is 47% protein.
Recommended Proteins:
51% (powder 50/50 float and sinking) - new born fry

51% (crumble 50/50 floating sinking) - fingerlings

51% (1/16" 1.6mm sinking pellets) - 2 to 4 inch fingerlings

46% (3/32" 2.4mm 50/50 sinking and floating pellets) - 4 to 7 inch juveniles

41% (3/16" 4.8mm floating pellets) - 6 to 10 inch young adult

37% (3/16" 4.8mm floating pellets) - 10 to 12 inch

33% (3/16" 4.8mm floating pellets) - 12+ inch or larger adults
