Post subject:  Can any one identify this fish please

This is one of my unidentified fish species.
We caught them in a local creek about 12 months ago when they were tiny. About 3mm.
From above they appear almost white,
From the side they are a silvery blue.
They have a black spot at the base of the tail.
They are a short fat fish.

Dark spot near the base of the tail and blue around the eye... maybe it's an Oxleyan Pygmy Perch:

My first thought was - Oops. On the other hand, we know they can be raised in AP so if they need a captive breeding program you're all set.

Wow.. I hope you are correct. Sound a lot like the one you have found.
I searched for ages before I put the Q up.
They are breeding, but unfortunatel found one floated today.
I cleaned out the tank they are in and looks like a stone fell on it :shock:
But there are still abot 20 of different sizes left.

+1.....great feeder fish but apparently illegal to own :dontknow:
