Does anyone know what this fish is,they are found in lakes and dams east of Narrogin Western Australia, they are supposed to be a carp but they have no feelers on their mouth. They can live in a bucket of water for days without pumping air into them .

Well they look like bronze comet goldfishes to me... although they do have nice looking fins than that, but maybe something has been nipping at it... |

Well if you get one in your hand they are quite gold, this is the only one I have lost so the colour is different. There are a few in the tank that are almost big enough to taste. We are going to see if we can get some bigger ones out of a dam. |

Don, I assume this is one of the mongrel fish you were telling me about when I was at your place ? Looks like a goldfish to me, but it would be good to see a live one. |

If you have 1 that looks like this, then you have 100, and they're hungry. Weed them out. Freeze them. Use them as dog food (my dog loves fish and waits excitedly by the FT every time I inspect it, in the hopes that I find a floater. ) or as fish food, either ground or whole when your other fish get bigger. Trout love them. |

Why give them to the dog,if you get a good size one they are OK to eat ? I have tasted a lot worse. We have found a dam which has good size ones in it like this one .Judging by the splashes that they make there could be much bigger ones there as well. From what we can work out they are golden carp and have been in the area for many years. We were told that there were redfin in the dam and this is what we caught.
