Murray prawn
Machrobrachium australiense

Torrens shrimps
http://www.publish.csiro.au/paper/MF9950959.htm

ive kept these as a kid

and ive fished them out of the lower murray in decent quantities the year b4 last!
hoping for yabbies and all i got was these!
but they were big enough for bait and some for 'shrimp cocktail'

i cant be sure they are all this species
but i do feel the keeping of river prawns is underdeveloped in in australia

be it as a bonus in your holding tanks?
or a cleaner in your sumps?
or a commensurate in your NFT's?

anything thatll eat solids, algae and detritus and increase mineralisation
is a good thing?
