Hello I have systems located in Palm Harbor, Florida. All of my systems overflow into sump tanks. I use Danner Pond Master pumps on timers or w/ Bell siphons. I was thinking of adding fresh water prawns or freshwater clams into my sump tank to aide in cleaning the water and increasing my protein output. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this. I am worried about how they will interact with the pumps. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dan Jerome Palm Harbor, FL |

I've got similar plans in mind for long term. You can put a guard around the pumps to keep them away. |

Hi Dan although I am not sure what you have available to you over there but in Australia I have kept fresh crayfish and what we call yabbies I think over there they are called redclaw but I have kept them with no problems and have also heard a few guys talking about the fresh water mussels in there tanks with no problems |
