Hi steve,

been out fishing today and I must say that there was little to see. Only saw two small reddies
but they were not hungry, followed the lures but no takers.

The channels are still very dirty due to all the work being done modernising the system. Maybe things will get better as the water clears up :?

God bless froggo.

I love catching my fish like that, it beats a hatchery. :compress:

not so sure about that:

page 86:

Selective breeding programmes have proved to be a fundamental tool in lowering the cost of
production for terrestrial livestock, and are having an increased impact on aquaculture. By
only breeding from broodstock that have shown the best performance with respect to desired
characteristics (usually growth rate, feed conversion efficiency and disease resistance,
although flesh fat content and colour or other qualities are increasingly included), average
performance can be improved incrementally each generation by up to 20%.
Table 13: Example genetic gain from selective breeding programmes
Species % gain per generation
Channel catfish 12-20
Pacific salmon 10
Atlantic salmon 11-14
Rainbow trout 13
Tilapia 14-23

greetings

OK Smart people. I know where there are some reddies, but my fishing skills continue to let me down. I can see them feeding at dusk taking bugs from the surface, but still cant catch them on soft plastics. I tried worms on hook with no luck. The dam they are in is low and full of weeds so the lures i've tried just catch the weeks.

What type of lures should i use? Any other suggestions.

Thanks,

Terry

Hi Terry the weeds could be a problem using spinners, celtic's or wonder woblers are the go
the warmer the weather the harder they will hit,or a worm about 1 metre under a float.
Jim.

I don't know what the legal implications are, but fishing with electricity is extremely efficient
in Belgium you need a special (hard to get) license, but I don't know if that is also valid for private property
