I have a small ibc set up that is getting a lot of algae on the floor and walls of the tank. Because the tank is shaded it gets a bit hard to see the rainbow trout as they blend in well. Can anyone recommend an algae eating fish that would help keep the algae Down. I'm in Perth so if you know of a supplier that would be great. I have tried sucker fish but the trout picked them off. The algae eater will need to be about 10cm so they wont get eaten.

Hiya Blake, wait until trout season is over before adding other fish breeds regardless of size they will be picked on.(Except for sharks with laser guided heat seeking missiles of course.)
Are the sides of the ibc covered to prevent light penetration?

Thanks guys!

The tank is about 80 percent covered fron the sun. I've cut the siphon pipe down to keep the water under the media.
It seems like algae is unavoidable. I'm just wondering if anyone uses a fish species to keep their Algae down? If anyone has or is doing it please let me know the details. Cheers!
