BTW not to get OT but here where I live, we used to have a lot of carp when the water was still chilly, then in 1983 they authorized the immission of hot waste waters from an energy plant, and they have since disappeared. :dontknow: of course i'm 21 so I only heard such stories from local anglers (and a paper of the local WWF), but wouldn't this contradict the theory that they like warmer waters?

Location: Minnesota USA
I live in Minnesota (very cold) and wild carp are an invasive species that thrives here. Don't know where anyone got the idea that they don't do well in cold water. That said one rarely catches one until the water warms up so I suspect they go dormant in colder water.
