Didn't weigh them at the time, but I reckon about 350-400g. Freo Tafe suggested that the large Fingerlings they were selling would get to plate size in 2-2.5 years

I guess I would base my decision on the following:

If I catch bream in the wild I don't bother keeping them under 35cm (my plate size). I am not sure what that equates to in weight. A 35cm bream caught in the wild would be 15+ years old.

If tank reared bream could reach this size in say 4/5 years then I guess I would give them a go because I am more interested in the veges than the fish anyway. However if they are going to take 6+ years to reach 35cm then perhaps not.
