I thought it might be nice to put what I am finding about Pacu in a thread. One thing is I found a very good paper on it (that I am reading) - you can read it here.

The most comprehensive paper I have ever seen on Pacu. I think they would do well in the US if there was an inexpensive source of fingerlings.

Does anyone have any experience spawning Pacu?

According to the paper, it shouldn't be that hard. But, unlike Tilapia, they don't breed without help - which is a good thing! Tilapia can be a problem here due to their ability to breed more than like rabbits.

I am hoping to get away to find the Pacu today.
