There are a couple of threads on golden perch...... from memory without much success. Is there any one currently running them? |

Golden perch are fine in Aquaponics IF{Live food = $true} they wont eat pallets... my mate has them on small yabbies and worms.. still has some trouble feeding them.... they dodge pallets like the english plauge (kinda like the royal wedding) |

Northern NSW.... you could start with trout if you are ready for fish now.... if not you could wait till after winter and get Barra if your climate is warm enough? In the mean time get some gold fish to get the system started. |

I reckon you might have trouble getting trout but if not go for it but not too many, and if not, if your winter temps dont get frosts then silvers might be ok. Depends if you are on the coast or inland eh ahh just noticed Coffs so silvers would be ok me thinks |

yeah just don't expect much action at this time of year and if your system is just starting and your silvers are small it will be hard to get enough nutes for much growth. However if you can get more mature silver stock then do it..... I wouldn't buy silvers again anything under 100mm. |

We have 50 ![]() We've had them for a couple of months now and are in a tank with 50 smaller cod... they only get barra food, and we havent lost any yet ... cant really say much else about them apart from that.If you are going to try them - make sure that they are already weaned onto pellets... once they are they should be fine... our hatchery guy reckons they are pretty hard to kill at that point... but time will tell

Yeah Jamie... we're pretty curious about how they will go ourselves ... we are going to chuck them in with the 100 silvers at some point - probably once the cod start licking their lips ... it will be interesting to see if the dynamic changes once they are in with fish with a bit more energy too... might liven them up a bit |
