Hi All, Just about to harvest a few more trout and not wanting to waste anything, was wondering what people do with all the guts etc. There has to be some great things to use it for instead of just throwing it out. Maybe garden fertiliser but worried it will attach vermin or the dogs will dig it up. Looking to the masses for what options there are for this by product |

wrap it in some newspaper and bury in the flower garden (or dirt garden) |

Try this thread Free Fish Feed... Once I get my system cycling, this will be a project to try. Also have the idea of putting an under-sink food waste chopper in the outdoor sink. When harvest time comes around, process the fish, push the head and guts down the drain, flip a switch and presto... fish emulsion (roughly ground). A small amount would probably go into the worm beds and if there is alot of it, it would get turned into the compost piles. I try to remember to turn the compost with my bucket tractor every few weeks, so things break down quickly. Lots of worms. |

Chicken/duck food And worm or BSF food Finally if there is too much for both of the above at one time, it becomes compost food. |

Excellent, would of never thought to feed it to the fish or chooks. I have just become the proud owner of 4 chooks and two indian runner ducks how much can they eat, is it good for them and do they like it? |
