Ok, as my first post I neeed to know what type of fish I should be looking at stocking at this time of the year.

My system should be cycled in the next week or so, it has been going for around 8 weeks now.

Any suggestions? I'm looking at around 20 fish.

My temps are getting to a max of 22 degrees as low as 18 degrees.

Also the best place to get which ever fish you suggest.

Cheers

your fellow WA APists would be better to advise you on this but surely in a few weeks you should be able to do trout.

If you are not in a hurry choose a fish that will actually survive.

I have at the moment silver perch and Barramundi and marron. I had hoped the Barra would reach a decent size before winter but I do not think it is going to happen.

Meanwhile the Silvers and the marron just keep on growing. I have been going for about a year now. I eat a lot of produce but have only eaten marron so far.

So if you want something trouble free and survivable go with the Silvers. The marron are good too but only if you have some good marron hide netting so they can get away from each other. Otherwise you will end up with one very LARGE marron.

Best of luck

John Fenn
