i'm quite happy with them, i rec'd the 25, with 1 doa, gave them a salt water dip and into my system they went, had 1 die the first night so 23 of 25 are fine they're feed trained, and have been eating very well i've been looking for a bigger tank and growbeds.. no luck so far in my price range, but i'm sure something will turn up |

I will be interested in your experiences. Yellow perch would be my preferred fish. There are no suppliers out here of fingerlings, and I think shipping would be prohibitive. I may need to get creative. I would be interested in seeing the growth rate you get on those things. What food are you feeding them? |

silvercup game fish food, pretty sure it's 42% protein but might be 45% the perch from last year that are left will be ready to harvest this summer.. if i keep the fish in the basement over summer, i'm sure i'll have better growth than outside last year, as well as fewer mort's and unexplained losses... they are definitely a "cool water" fish it was actually cheaper for me to have 25 shipped to me this last time, even though he was located in ohio, it would have been 2 tanks of gas to get there and back,, it came out to about 50 bucks for 25 3"yp delivered to my door, and they were feed trained |

Widgeonman, I know they aren't that close to you but this place may have fingerlings - Columbia Catfish and Bass (541) 247-3474. I have yet to call them but they are listed with the State of Oregon. http://www.dfw.state.or.us/resources/fi ... r_sale.pdf |

Thanks I will have to give them a call. I may have an option of going to a private pond and catching them there (they are a nusiance for those raising trout as they tend to overpopulate). Permits etc are a pain, but that is the state we live in.

Thanks Keith, depending on prices out here it might be worthwhile to go this route so I added this to my bookmarks. |
