Only got one small trout in the sump of my bigger system. It survived the water getting to 27C the other day, dunno how. He shot out to grab some food this morning when I fed the yabbies. Got a 50L/min air pump in this system with 4 X 100mm air stones in the fish tank and one in the sump |

Still have about 20 good size trout left in my system. System temp is still rising, currently 22.3, as it normally peaks early evening. Ambient temp is down to 27 and falling so hopefully all should be OK with a cooler night to drop temperature |

56 still going strong. Water temp has reached 25C at times and they stop eating at about 22C. Current water temp 20 and they've just had a good dinner. |

Going to be hard to keep them going with some high minimums coming as well here in Perth. |

So does anyone in Perth still have trout? Would be pretty amazing if you still do after this weather... Not so much the high day time temps, but the high minimums are a killer, doesn't allow anything to cool down... Sunday Very hot. Partly cloudy. Min 25 Max 38 Monday Partly cloudy. Min 26 Max 35 Tuesday Sunny. Min 24 Max 37 Wednesday Very hot. Sunny. Min 24 Max 38 Thursday Sunny. Min 24 Max 37 Friday Partly cloudy. Min 25 Max 37 |

I've still got some!!! Though I'm not in Perth the temps have still been high and have experienced 2 degree rises in most tanks over the last week. |

Fb, hope to start bringing trout up from early April if the weather has cooled down enough. The only SP I have are still tiny so I intend to grow them on in heated tanks over winter before making them available for sale. |

My FT temperature reached 29 yesterday and this morning, I have fished out 7 dead Rainbow Trout. I can't see any others surviving after this. This is despite having a fountain running continuously in the FT whenever FT ambient temp is above 24°C. As Joel said, the high overnight minimums have prevented the FT cooling down and the High RH prevents the fountain from having much effect on temperature. Regards, Tony |
