went fishing the other day and caught a monster red fin just wondering if any one has put them in the pond at there house or would they get to stressed out going from wild to a captive fish

Many have tried Deegsta, apparently they don't take to pellets and keeping live feed up to them is nye on impossible. Do a search and see the previous discussion. I never say can't, but I gather there is a nack to success on this one.

hay Deegsta, i have kept some large redfin in the past, i put them straight into the pond and fed them dead bait, white bait, mulies and prawns, i had one that would eat out of my hand after a couple of weeks.

whats the latest on Redfin? Anyone got them?

Im curious about this species... are they in WA, are they a possibility in AP??

Im searching the forum but havnt come up with anything solid.

This listing recognises the threat that this species causes to native fish populations, and prohibits live possession and sale of the species. Will be looking for some reddie fingerlings when I get home next week. I want to try them in the 200L aquarium in the shed to see how they feed etc.
I know a bloke who will know where I can find some :wink:

Can't remember anywhere in particular where they are, I haven't been fresh water fishing in a while.. From what I remember of people trying them on the forum, pretty much everyone gave up on them...

My father used to fish for them in the Warren River back in the early/mid 60's. When he seen my set up here he asked if I could grow Red fin Perch in as they are pretty good to eat. I did a little hunting around but could not find much info on them.
