They're not Gambusia, that's for certain. I don't live in that part of Oz, but they look like a sort of Hardyhead, maybe the Murray Hardyhead. Rupe, that's more your part of the world. |

Your local library may have a book on freshwater fish identification, as ours has one. By the looks of those fish, i think some are definately DEAD.

Hi erasertech, they are female empire gudgeons. Males are really nice color & look great in the aquarium but female are plain with a silver/white belly. |
