I have these little fish in the dam and was wondering if someone can identify what they are, about 2cm long, sorry about the bad photos.location Central queensland

They're not Gambusia, that's for certain.

I don't live in that part of Oz, but they look like a sort of Hardyhead, maybe the Murray Hardyhead.

Rupe, that's more your part of the world.

Your local library may have a book on freshwater fish identification, as ours has one. By the looks of those fish, i think some are definately DEAD. :think:

Hi erasertech, they are female empire gudgeons. Males are really nice color & look great in the aquarium but female are plain with a silver/white belly.

You will need a lot to keep your trout fed though.They won't eat pellets if there are plenty of them in the tank.
