My trout are looking good after a rough start 19 died and now my boys as I like to call them are doing great. So tame I have them eatin out of my hand. Makes the catching of them easier ( but not the eating ) How do we keep the tem down until we really have to harvest them as we had a late " rough " start to this. |

Struggleing with this myself, currently building a shade house, got my tanks insulated, been thinking about mulching the tops of my gb's iv also put batts around the sun spots. Still getting high temps, also trying frozen 2 lt milk bottles in the sump over night to bring the temp down so it takes more to raise it during the day. |

Keeping them will lead to an even rougher finish, bitte the bullet and harvest, even if they are a tad small. You are not going to get much more weight on them from now on anyway. Harvest 90% of them and keep a few to see how far you get, this gives you an idea of what you can do in future years, just dont bet your whole harvest on it this year. I have had mid 30 degree days for 3 days in a row, and it's pushing the limit well and truely, probably spending more on aeration than what the fish are worth. |

I'll start harvesting round 22 c only running 9 fish ATM and iv got a mates dam lined up for smaller ones. |

Great thing about little fishes is you can fry them up and eat the bones also... |
