i know it might seem weird . . and tell me if im just being stupid, but has anyone ever tried adding wine / flavourings to FT's to see if you can alter the taste of the flesh?? similar to the cows being fed on red wine???

Not that weird Freo Boy. I have heard of people adding kaffir limes to their fishtanks with the resulting fish supposedly tasting different than normal.

Adding wine might add to the flavour and would probably make them a lot easier to catch too. :laughing3:

Don't know about flavoring but I watched a presentation by David Suzuki on the TV one night and he was talking about colouring the fish meat.
Basically the pellet companies ask what colour the grower wants their fish meat and adjusts the pellet dyes accordingly :shock:

I would probably save the wine for the cooking stage. I'm not sure if the alcohol would have a detrimental effect on the bacteria or plants. Of course it would be rather diluted and just kinda seems a waste to me.
