All,

I found some local (to me!) people that stock fish. I thought I'd post it here in case anybody else in NW Ohio is looking for fish for their system. I am in no way affiliated, etc, etc.

The first one has a newsletter and they mentioned they are getting blue tilapia this year, so that should be interesting. I don't think it will be very viable, as TLC suggested, the warm season is just too short.

I thought you would use some natives, like Small Mouth/Large Mouth Bass or Crappie?

Did a fishing trip there in 2007 and that was mainly what we caught.

I plan to stock bluegill, but I have only a small system. These places stock lots of different kinds of fish. I mentioned tilapia because when I first started I was interested in trying them out. I think bluegill/red ear will work much better for me.

Check with Aquanic.com, on the lists, a number of breeders and growers producing Yellow Perch there in your area. Channel cat would be my next choice with a strong look at really good Koi. The Koi will thrive in your area in an AP system and probably pay pack way more then any other species. And the culls you can sell to Oriental markets in Cleveland and Sandusky. The only other species that would pay as well would be Discus or Angelfish. If they did. Show quality Koi are probably the priciest fish on earth. Fun to raise too, they get very tame and personable.
