i know this question is like "how long is a piece of string?" but im just trying to get a really rough idea of how much i should be feeding my barra. i have 18 x ~25cm barra in 1000L FT. I am feeding them 7mm pellets from BYAP. In the last 1-2 weeks they have really started to feed a lot am im just wondering about how much they should be getting. The water is about 22 to 28 deg (night to day) Any help would be great!! thanks |

Bigwill, I believe this question has been asked a number of times this year... I believe what I gathered from reading various posts, it is about 3%-5% of body weight per fish per day. 1% close to harvest. Note that this applies to Barra only... Trout and silver perch has got different %... If you have only recently cycled your system, take step increases and watch your water test levels. |
