Shubunkin Goldfish (London type)
Carassius auratus auratus

Well all must be pretty well on the money in the main FT. Woke this morning and went to check the system and they were busy chasing a plump red female through the spawning mops.

I will try and get some pics after and let you know what happens

What is a spawning mop?

An old style mop looking thing. Hang it in the water. all the ropey bits dangle, and fish don't like to swim through it. But the eggs are deposited into and on it, and the little fry have some protection.

Goldfish spawn very sticky eggs, and without a mop, the eggs will coat every surface, and then get eaten by the other fish :-(
