Yes.
Although which varieties I don't know.
The Chinese love them, however I'm told their nothing special.
Generally if you add a heap of marinade, then they're good cos they last so long (tough little buggers) fresh water snails also grow larger than garden varieties, so even better.
I've heard the kind the Chinese eat referred to only as 'River Snails'

Yeah thanks Rupert, I try all that first, before I ever ask a question on the forum.
Its also nice to see what other people with some experience think.
A Forum without newbies asking questions and replenishing the pool of those who move on. Is a dead Forum.

Cook well. Never raw. Parasites from the freshwater snails will cause serious problems. Salt water snails do not have the parasites. Same for salt water/freshwater fish. Don't ever eat freshwater fish raw. Try the snails in a white wine, sautéed till cooked.
