Hi everyone. I have a chop and flip system. It's been running for about 12 months and the jade perch are going gang busters. Lost a couple, but I think that was due to high ammonia as theres no fruit or veg growing atm (too hit for anything). I want to knock the perch on the head and then fill the tank with ornamentals. I'm in QLD so that rules out Tilapia and Carp as they're illegal in the state. Are there any other ornamentals I could put it my system? I'm struggling to find info. Why not just put in a 3-5 eating fish like Jades or silvers and treat them like an ornamental.. I kept silver perch for many years and they grew huge. |

Yeah I guess I could do that. Was looking for something more to look at. Currently got 21 in there at the moment, but they're getting too big. I think I'll split them up and into the other system I've been putting off. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk |

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm with EB on this one, our native fish are so fascinating and have more personality than goldfish in my opinion. This coming from someone that stocked exclusively yabbies in an aquarium (shed a tear when my old one died and sold the whole setup ). Otherwise try purple spotted gudgeon if you can find a supplier. They are magnificant, hardy, beautiful and also in rapid decline on the wild. |
