does anyone know if you can get freshwater mussels in vic and if so where??

AquaBlue will ship to you... shouldn't be any problems getting Mussels down to Vic... unless there's some sort of translocation ban... doubtful but they'll tell you .. $80/100

yh i saw them but would prefer in vic so i can pick up n not worry bout postage costs

Hey Steve postage wouldn't be that bad to Vic, I got 25 sent to WA but did mine buy air, was about $30, mine came in a foam container 32cm x 18cm x 18cm, and would have cost around $9-50 by australia post, this was for a 5 working day turn around to country WA, because of long weekend I didn't want to risk it, Neil at Aquablue tells me they will last 7-10 days, all of mine were still alive on arrival and are now moving around my tank, you can visit this link, http://www1.auspost.com.au/pac/aus_parcel.asp and if you know your parcel size in CM just put in dimensions and your post code and aquablues post code (2324 from memory) and will calculate cost for you. my tank is 1.8mt x .8mt and 25 seems heaps, can actually see a difference after a day and half, top of my filter was getting a bit of algae put a mussel up their and is pretty clean now and mussel has moved on, put some on rocks in my tank and you can see clean marks where they were moving around, water looks cleaner even, but will post before and after pics next week in my thread, link below

There was another thread where Steve said he was getting some mussels. Shipping was $40 and he's getting some for me. Perhaps if you ask him you can get in on it too?
